HEAVY.COM CLOSES $20 MILLION FINANCING
Polaris Venture Partners Increases Stake in HEAVY.com, the World’s Number One Digital Entertainment Brand
New York, NY – December 11, 2006: Heavy.com, the Number One digital entertainment brand for 18-34 year old guys, today announced that it received a $20 million financing round from Polaris Venture Partners. This is the second installment of funding from Polaris, which provided $10 million to Heavy.com in the beginning of 2006.
This second round of financing will further expand Heavy’s original programming, which includes new hits such as “Superficial Friends,” “Massive Mating Game,” “Heavy News” and “Heavy’s Angels.” Heavy’s much-beloved, time-tested classics include “Behind the Music That Sucks,” “American Suck Countdown” “Gangsta Nanny 911” and “Uranus.”
