HEAVY ADDS SENIOR EXECUTIVES TO MANAGEMENT TEAM: CMO ERIC HADLEY, CTO SCOTT PENBERTHY AND CFO TODD SLOAN
Former MSN, Nielsen and Photobucket Execs Join One of Web’s Leading Video Innovators
New York, NY – September 10, 2007: Heavy Corporation http://about.heavy.com/, one of the web’s leading video innovators, today announced the hiring of CMO Eric Hadley (former General Manager of Microsoft’s MSN Network), CTO Scott Penberthy (former Vice President of Engineering for Photobucket) and CFO Todd Sloan (former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nielsen NetRatings, Inc.). David Carson and Simon Assaad, co-CEOs of Heavy, made the announcement.

Eric Hadley, CMO
Mr. Hadley joins Heavy from the Microsoft Network, where he held the position of General Manager. Prior to this, Eric was on the Microsoft Digital Advertising Solution Team, covering MSN, Live.com, Xbox Live and all other Microsoft advertising-funded properties. Here he served as the General Manager of Global Marketing, handling product research, industry and agency initiative, network positioning, sales collateral and field marketing events, CRM and direct marketing.

While with Microsoft, Mr. Hadley produced and programmed Microsoft’s industry leading Media and Marketing Conference, Strategic Account Summit (SAS), for the past 5 years. He also managed the global rollout of Microsoft adCenter, the company’s next-generation advertising platform, and led the award-winning MSN 8 Butterfly campaign. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Hadley played a key role in Ogilvy & Mather’s award-winning worldwide e-business campaign that successfully revitalized the IBM brand, and worked on the Burger King Corp. account at Ammirati & Puris and regional McDonald’s business at DDB.
Mr. Hadley serves on the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Committee of the Interactive Advertising Bureau. He is also a member of the Board of Directors for the VCU Advertising School and Urban Monkeys.
Scott Penberthy, CTO
Dr. Penberthy comes to Heavy from Photobucket, where he held the title of Vice President of Engineering. Here, Dr. Penberthy led his engineering team to deliver the world’s largest and fastest growing personal media device, leading to the company’s recent acquisition by News Corporation.
“I’ve been impressed with Heavy’s video capabilities for quite some time,” said Dr. Penberthy. “There is an excellent fit for my background and I feel that I can add a lot of value as Heavy takes advantage of both traditional and emerging internet platforms.”
Prior to his time with Photobucket, Dr. Penberthy served as CTO of IBM’s Industrial Sector and Vice President of IBM Global Services. Dr. Penberthy holds a SB and SM in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Washington.
Todd Sloan, CFO
Before joining Heavy, Mr. Sloan held the title of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nielsen NetRatings, Inc. where he led the company through more than five successful years in the public markets.
“What attracted me to Heavy is the impressive job the company has done of building a video content network, drawing a strong demographic and putting itself in a position to take full advantage of the assets it has built,” said Mr. Sloan. “I’m excited to get back into the Web publishing space and Heavy’s entrepreneurial profile is exactly the type I desired. Prior to Nielsen, Mr. Sloan was Chief Financial Officer of About.com, Inc., where he led the company through its initial public and secondary offerings. Mr. Sloan also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sony Worldwide Networks and prior to that spent ten years in the media practice at Ernst & Young. Mr. Sloan holds a B.B.A. in finance and accounting from the University of Wisconsin and is a Certified Public Accountant.
